Dr. Patterson is a board-certified psychiatrist who is currently accepting private patients for medication management, cognitive behavioral therapy, and/or psychodynamic psychotherapy. He is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Preventive Medicine, as well as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Patterson has experience working in emergency and inpatient psychiatry. He has served as an Associate Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine. He completed his postgraduate training in Adult Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. During this time, he was selected to serve as Chief Resident and received The Albert Einstein College of Medicine Teaching Award for his efforts in medical education. Dr. Patterson was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his excellence in clinical care, leadership, compassion, and dedication to service. He is a graduate of the Physician Leadership Development Program at Wright State University, where he completed his M.D. and M.B.A. Dr. Patterson also completed a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Master of Arts in Medical Anthropology at Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Patterson has extensive experience in health systems management, leading complex projects, and managing teams. Before going into full-time private practice, he served as the Associate Chief Medical Information Officer for the Mount Sinai Health System. Prior to this position, he served as the Senior Director of Clinical Operations and Director of Informatics for Mount Sinai Beth Israel. He has published and supported research initiatives in clinical informatics. Before pursuing his medical career, he worked on a range of human relations initiatives aimed at addressing discrimination and bias through the LGBT Center of Cleveland and the National Conference for Community and Justice.
